Arts of Japan
|
Students will explore ancient and modern works from the indigenous and modern traditions of the Japanese islands. Students will navigate mediums and materials, historical eras and themes as well as specific artists. Students will participate in hands on exploration of the traditional arts of sado, ikebana, shodo, and kimono as well as religious works and architecture. Modern paintings and sculpture will also be explored as well as fashion, anime, and manga.
